Positive Aging Lab at USF
Welcome to the Positive Aging Lab (PAL) at USF, where behavioral science and integrative health meet to offer solutions to living a long and healthy life!

Our Research
Positive Aging Lab is a research laboratory devoted to the development and testing of integrative health and social engagement interventions to promote health and wellbeing among middle-aged and older adults.
We are interested in developing, translating, and integrating evidence-based nonpharmacological approaches from multiple disciplines to improve physical, mental, and social health in clinical and community settings.
Our Mission:
Enhance Emotional Well-Being: Staff and families often find that music helps residents recall their past.
Foster Cognitive Stimulation: Cognitive stimulating activities can help promote mental alertness in elderly individuals, and thereby contributing to their overall quality of life
Promote Social Connection: Increase social interactions and reduce loneliness.

Applications
The Positive Aging Lab focuses on how music and social engagement can help reduce agitation, anxiety, and feelings of isolation while promoting social connection and overall mental well-being for older adults with dementia. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on research experience while developing skills in data analysis, SAS, and video coding. Applications close September 7th.
