Looking for you or a loved one to join the study? Commonly asked questions can be found below! 

FAQ's for participants 

Question: How long are music sessions? 

​

Answer: Music sessions range from 45 minutes to and hour. ​

Question: How long is the study conducted for? â€‹

​

Answer: 4 weeks. There are 3 sessions a week, for a total of 12 sessions. ​​

Question: What type of music will be played? 

​

Answer: Genres range from classical to rock and roll! Ensuring everyone gets to hear a memorable song. ​

Question: Will sessions be recorded? 

​

Answer: Yes, only with participant permission, music sessions will be recorded. Recordings will be used for data analysis and will not be shared. 

FAQ's for living facilities  

Question: How can we prepare for a facility visit?  

​

Answer: We kindly ask that participants be brought to the designated room 5 minutes before start time.  â€‹

Question: Will a healthcare professional be required to be in attendance? 

​

Answer: If possible, it is preferred that at least 1 healthcare worker is in attendance during the duration of the study. 

Question: Can residents that are not a part of the study join as well? 

​

Answer: While other residents are not able to be in the study, we may have other opportunities for them to participate!​

Question: What electronic requirements are there for the study? 

​

Answer: Access to the internet as well as a television screen are needed.

FAQ's for volunteers  

Question: What are some roles in the lab?  

​

Answer: There are three main roles when facilitating. 

​

Primary: Responsible for interacting with the music study participants. 

Secondary: Responsible for filling out data collection during the study. 

Tertiary: Responsible for setting up technical equipment. 

Question: Do I have to choose only one role? 

​

Answer: No, volunteers can choose to be cross-trained in each role to increase their facilitating skills.
